I am Yang Yang, from Beijing which is the capital of China. Now, my life has totally changed when I came to Purdue. That is, I had to do everything by meself. When I was in China, I did not need to do anything instead of studyng hard. For example, I did not need to cook because my grandmother will do it for me; also, I did not need to wash my clothes, but now I have to do these house work. It is hard to say I love these changes or fell comfortable but I still think I have to appreciate these changes for teaching me how to take care of myself. I appreciate these changes because I start to know how to deal with the problems from life individually. Anyway, I still miss the life in China.
What's more, I used to lack self-control. That is, I always cannot help playing games. However, in China, my mother would supervise me and force me to do my homework. Presently. I should do my best to supervise myself.
Although the life here is pretty difficlut and uncomfortable, I think it is good to train me to make an individual life.

ReplyDeleteThe most embarrassing experience was that I went shopping and wanted to buy seaweed, which is used to make special soup. However, I could not find it in the market called pay low. Thus, I decided to ask someone for help. Unfortunately, I did not know how to speak it in English and after I described what it looks like, they still did not know what it is. Suddenly, I thought a good idea that I draw a picture for them and I believed that they should have known it exactly. Unluckily, I ignored a big problem that I did really bad in painting! They looked at my picture for a long time and told me that follow them. Thus, I followed them and soon absolutely stood in front of the wrong things!
ReplyDeleteacutally i have the same situation with you, but you are smart guy, you did not give up.
ReplyDeleteWell, sometimes it is quite hard to make native speakers understand what we are saying because we don't know the exact word. But just keep on working, and I think will come across this difficulty.
ReplyDeleteThis blog is "piao liang."
ReplyDeleteI like your introduction. This is a great story. Hopefully you will learn more about living independently here in the United States.
ReplyDeleteI have the same situation with you, but I think now you have learned how to do everything. God bless you! I believe you can do better and better. I wish you happy.
ReplyDeleteDon't worry. I'm know it's hard when you're first trying to take care of yourself, but it gets way better and easier. When I first had to take care of myself at 9 years old, I didn't appreciate it much either. Now, though, I realize that I'm better off than some people who still aren't able to.
ReplyDeleteAnd, as far as the whole native speakers being unable to understand you sometimes thing, the more you speak and hear English, the better you'll get. Just keep on trying. Personally, I think your pronunciation is quite good. Like I said, just keep working on it :)
